What a pre-order is
A pre-order reserves a sealed box from our allocation before it's released. We only list pre-orders for product we've actually got coming — if we can't get it, it doesn't go on the site.
What you're charged, and when
You're charged the full amount at checkout. That's what holds your box.
When it ships
Every pre-order shows an estimated street date — the day the manufacturer says the product can be sold. We ship (or have it ready for pickup) on or around that date.
Street dates move. Topps, Panini, Upper Deck and Pokémon push release dates regularly, sometimes by weeks. That's the manufacturer's call, not ours.
If the date moves
If your box is going to be later than the date shown when you ordered, here's what happens — and this is a commitment, not a courtesy:
- We email you before the original date passes, with the new date.
- That email includes a way to cancel for a full refund, no questions, no restocking fee.
- If you'd rather wait, do nothing and we'll ship it when it lands.
- If we can't give you a firm new date, we cancel and refund you automatically.
Refunds go back to your original payment method. Card refunds are issued within seven business days of the cancellation.
Cancelling
Cancel any pre-order for a full refund any time before it ships — you don't need a reason. Call the shop at (630) 675-0001 or email info@thesandlotsports.com with your order number.
Once it's shipped or picked up, the pre-order becomes a normal purchase and our regular return policy applies.
If we can't fill your order
Allocations get cut. It happens — usually on the hottest product. If our allocation comes in short and we can't fill your pre-order, you get a full refund and a heads-up as soon as we know. We'll also tell you where you sit if a later allocation comes in.
We'd rather refund you than sell you something we don't have.
Pickup
Local pre-orders can be picked up at the counter — 567 Roosevelt Rd, Glen Ellyn — starting on release day. We'll hold it for after it lands, and we'll email you when it's ready.
Questions before you order
Call the shop. Seriously — if you're unsure whether something's worth pre-ordering, or whether we expect a good allocation, ask. We'll give you a straight answer, including "wait on this one."
